Good things come in Two's!

Ema-Lion
The little lion is two months old already! I just can't believe that I've already been pregnant, had the cutie pie and now she's two months old! At her 2 month check up she was 12 lbs 3 oz (90%), 24.5 inches (95%), and her head was 39cm (50%). She's smiling a ton and talking up a storm. No giggles yet but I can't wait for that first little chuckle! She's still a pretty good baby but has decided not to take her binky the last couple days which is a bit disappointing. Isla never took a binky so we have really been enjoying the ability to just pop it in at night time or when she's crying in the car. So far she's a better sleeper than Isla was too. She just needs to be swaddled, nursed and laid in her basinet and she's out until her night time nursing. Then back to sleep until 6 or 7 when she wants to be awake. She's also a major mama's girl. She generally doesn't like me to be out of her sight and no one can really soothe her except me. On one hand it makes me feel like a million bucks to be the center of her world, but on the other hand it can get pretty exhausting too. She's starting to eventually calm down with Adam but it takes much longer when he's soothing her. We love our chubby little lion and its hard to imagine life without her now that she is a part of our family. I can't wait until she can talk and run and play with Isla. They are going to be best buds.

Isla Bear
Isla turned 2 last week. She is looking like such a big girl now with her long, pretty, golden curls and that adorable, confident little strut she has. At her 2 year check up she was 26lbs 12oz (50%), 35 1/4 in. tall (75-90%) and her head was 47 3/4 cm (50%). She also had an unexpected, unpleasant procedure done that made going potty kind of traumatic for a day or two. But all is well now! Oh yeah, and she's potty trained! It happened really fast for us. She just one day decided it was time. I think I can count on one hand the number of accidents she's had since she crossed over. Going #2 is still a bit of a challenge but she pretty much always goes potty on the potty and usually wakes up from her nap dry. She's had several dry night time diapers the last week or two as well! We're also out of the woods as far as the acting out after sissy was born thing goes. She's actually really pleasant to be around right now and has been saying some stinkin' cute things lately. Yesterday when Adam got home from work we were outside. She sprinted up to him and said "I love you Daddy!" with so much excitement and admiration for her daddy that it totally warmed both of our hearts and made Adam's whole week. Isla is really in to painting lately. Her favorite thing is water colors. She loves to just sit and draw too. She can draw a fish and a rose pretty well (you can tell what they are if you know what your looking for). She loves to sing and dance. The other day she sang along to the spirit 105.3 jingle and when it was over she said "I just love that song." She talks mainly in sentences now too. If you ask her "What's papa's name?" she'll answer with "Him's name is Michael" not just Michael like most people would. Her favorite shows are "Yo Gabba Gabba" and "Wonder Pets." She loves to have hot chocolate while I drink my coffee every morning. We're still working on the concept of sharing but she has come a long way the last few months and is doing a lot better than she used to. She's also starting to cut out her nap time which is hard because she still isn't a great sleeper at night. In some ways its nice because no nap days mean earlier bedtimes but she gets pretty cranky in the afternoon if she hasn't had one. Isla is also very very very outgoing! She'll talk to anyone and she NEVER forgets a name. She honestly remembers everyone's name! What a great trait to have. We've really been enjoying the pool that's in my parent's community, where I grew up. And hanging out with my mom and sister since they're on summer vacation.

Well, that pretty much sums up the last month or so with my girls! Here are some pictures:

So great! Way to go Isla on potty training! We aren't quite there yet....And Beck is totally a mama's boy, too. We should do a Forest Park play date!
